The Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission establishes minimun standards for the State’s criminal justice officers. The Commission consists of 31 members and conducts it business through committees. The Probable Cause Committee conducts hearings for certified officers or applicants for certification who are accused of violation of the Commissions rules. The Commission has the authority to deny certification or suspencd or revoke certification for five years for, among other reasons, if it finds the officer has committed a Class B misdemeanor even if there is no conviction. It can also deny or revoke certification if it finds that an officer knowingly made a material misrepresentation in any information required for certification.
